"Bed" is a song by Nicki Minaj featuring Ariana Grande from Minaj's fourth studio album Queen. It was released on June 14, 2018 as the third single from the album, along with the pre-order for the album. This is Nicki and Ariana's fourth collaboration together, following various successful releases including "Bang Bang" and "Side to Side".
Background
Shortly after the release of the track, Nicki took to Twitter to reveal some of the background on the song. She stated how she had been on "Bed" for over a year, and one day Ariana dropped by her studio and Nicki played her what she did on "The Light Is Coming", and Ariana offered to get on something for Queen.
"I had been on the hook for a year so it never dawned on me to put someone else. Let me tell u smthn, Ari did it & sent it RIGHT back. Added all these beautiful harmonies & runs. Never over does it. Just ALWAYS gets it right. I fell in love. I called her screaming. OMG. #Bed"
Music Video
The music video for "Bed" was first released July 6, 2018. It was directed by Hype Williams who has directed various videos for Nicki previously including "Massive Attack" and "Va Va Voom". Some of the video was shot in Turks, however Ariana was unable to fly out with Nicki for that location, so her scenes were shot in Malibu.
Minaj stated on Twitter that there are actually two edits of the video, due to two different directors being involved. However, the alternate cut of the video has not yet been released. The music video was the first confirmed to feature Romania. The closing scenes of the video feature cameos from New York Giants former punter Brad Wing, and receiver Odell Beckham Jr..
