Each episode has a celebrity guest hosting the show, and a musical guest. Nicki Minaj has appeared on the show a total of 4 times (3 times as a musical guest and once as a special musical guest).

Nicki appeared on the show for the first time on January 29, 2011. That was her first time being a musical guest with the host being Jesse Eisenberg. Nicki appeared in the "Bride of Blackenstein" sketch as well as in the SNL Digital Short called "The Creep".
She later performed her hit singles "Right Thru Me" and "Moment 4 Life".
October 2011[]
On October 15, 2011, Drake brought out Nicki Minaj to perform their newest single at the time, "Make Me Proud".
December 2014[]
Minaj appeared again as a musical guest on December 6, 2014 (the first time in over three years). The host for the show was James Franco. Minaj's first performance was "Bed of Lies" with Skylar Grey, while her second performance was a medley of "Only" and "All Things Go".
October 2015[]
The Weeknd brought out Nicki Minaj to perform her new remix of his song, "The Hills (Remix)".
May 2018[]
Nicki Minaj along with Tina Fey starred as musical guest on the finale of SNL. She performed in one skit: The Frienship Song where she rapped a short verse about standing up for her friends. She also performed songs "Chun-Li" & "Poke It Out" with Playboi Carti.
