Background[]

In Nicki Minaj's iTunes Ping, Nicki began a "Pink Friday Diaries" initiative wherein she gave her own insight on the conception, development, and meaning of a selection of songs on her upcoming album; her entry on "Save Me" is as follows:

Save Me : This song feels like a soundtrack to a movie. It paints a vivid pictures of girl who has it all but still feels very much alone. She's turned into a monster and pushed the one person who truly loved her away. She drives for hundreds of miles, falls to her face sobbing, and begs him to save her.
